The WIFI concept
In the initial times when internet technology emerged, the main problems that users faced were because of wires. Most of the times, the connections were to be disconnected because of disturbance in the wires. Even when the users changed the wires, the connections did produce problems after a certain period of time. Hence a solution to this problem emerged in the form of wireless internet. In technological terms, wireless internet is called WIFI (Wireless Fidelity).
This technology does not require any wires and the user receives excellent internet speed. All the user has to do is to get his system configured according to the network configurations. WIFI mostly has a very high speed and the user mostly gets uninterrupted internet service. WIFI technology is used more with laptops as compared to desktops. A WIFI device is installed in the laptop and the user does not have to install a separate device for this purpose. This technology does not generate any costs and is mostly free for the users as for each connection a separate internet device does not have to be purchased. On a single WIFI connection, countless number of users can use the internet service. However, the signal can be strong or weak.
If a user is close to the WIFI terminal, he will get very stable and healthy internet connection.
FREE WIFI in educational institutions
WIFI technology is most commonly used in educational institutions and corporate offices as it does not have any additional costs. Most of the high schools and universities have a WIFI connection installed so that all the students can use a centralized internet connection. Hence on each system, a separate connection does not have to be installed. This internet technology is very compatible as no wires have to be used. Students can use internet in their hostel rooms by comfortably sitting on the couch.
The WI LAN cards and geographical limitations
WIFI technology has a lot of geographical limitations and they are active in a certain geographical area. WIFI connections are established with the help of WI LAN cards. These cards work as the normal LAN cards but the difference is that they are wireless. They establish internet connections that spread up to a certain geographical limitation. Beyond this limitation, the connection dies out and the users cannot use the internet service.
Technical components of a WIFI connection
The main functional components of a WIFI connection include the WIFI terminal and WIFI server. The server is located at the central point of the connection. All the signals are transmitted from this point. The further the user is, the weaker signal is received by him. Hence most of the WIFI companies ensure that their connections have the maximum geographical limitations.
Conclusion
WIFI is a very powerful technology that has made internet usage very easy as no wires are involved and the user does not have to sit on a hard computer seat all the time. There is limitation on the duration for which the user uses internet. Similarly the user does not have to pay for the used internet service. WIFI technology is also a very good internet option for online network games. The users can get connected to a network and play games from a common platform. WIFI technology removes all the limitations that are attached to internet usage. Apart from that, it is free of cost.
